Wellness coaching is when a trained coach looks at your health history and can see areas where improvements can be made to various aspects of your life to help reduce or improve symptoms. These areas include:
Diet and spotting gaps in nutrition for example:
- Are you having enough protein, eating regularly, getting enough of all the macronutrients or having too many refined carbohydrates?
- Would any supplements support you such as oestrogen detoxing supplements or stress hormone regulators or vitamins and minerals?
- Are you regularly eating foods that commonly cause food intolerances?
Lifestyle red flags:
- Are you doing intense exercise at the wrong time of day?
- Being too sedentary?
- Using a lot of toxic chemicals in your home or skincare?
- Are you using an HRT or contraceptive that is made of synthetic hormones?
Emotional stressors:
- These could be issues that are contributing to stress and therefore hormone imbalances. Our coaches are trained to work with effective emotional tools if this is required.
Once they’ve made the assessment and asked you questions to clarify anything, they need more information about they are then able to provide you with the education about any of the areas above and will support you to be able to make changes.
Why does this approach work?
Many people don’t truly understand how getting the foundations or as we call them ‘the pillars of health’ in place can dramatically change our symptoms. We often think that the ‘right HRT’ or a ‘magic supplement’ will fix everything, but these are often either just a sticking plaster or don’t work at all if the foundational aspects of health are left out.
The pillars of health are:
- Blood sugar stabilisation
- Stress hormone reduction
- Reproductive hormone rebalancing
- Digestive improvement
- Improved immune function
An example of why these are important is that we could be taking the right HRT but have had a lifetime of gut issues that mean we aren’t able to absorb it.
It is then ESSENTIAL that a coach works in stages. A body that is under a lot of stress and with an incorrect diet should not be plunged into a detox for example.
Our coaches are trained in our ‘Stages of Wellness’ so they understand there is a journey to go on to get to where we want to be.
Our coaches leave no stone unturned in ensuring that you have the right foundations in place to achieve your health goals.
How much does it cost?
A first appointment with one of our coaches’ costs £150 in which they will undertake a full health history analysis, offer a food strategy that is appropriate for you, advise on potential food intolerances, make supplement recommendations, and educate you on different types of HRT that are available. You will have a half hour video call with your coach, and you will receive education and information by email including videos and resources.
Follow up calls are £100.
Why work with us?
We are the only clinic offering specialised hormone work that also looks at the ‘whole health’ of our clients to make sure that all the pillars of health are working optimally.
As your call is via video, you don’t have to travel or come and see us in person and this call can be done at a time that suits you. We also have email support via our admin team should you need to reach out between sessions.
Our team are highly trained specifically in this work and our team also includes independent registered nurses who run our HRT clinic. The team is overseen by Clinical Directors and hormone experts, Claire Snowdon-Darling & Laura Knowles, the authors of the book “How to Improve the Menopause Experience Through Nutrition and Lifestyle: The Triangle of Hormonal Health’ and who both have over 15 years’ experience in clinical practice.
We are also able to offer functional tests such as DUTCH tests and GI tests so we rely on data, not guesswork.
